Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids provide many benefits to the skin. They rapidly, but gently exfoliate dead, dry skin cells from the skins surface. They stimulate collagen production to help smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Alpha hydroxy acids are hydrophilic, drawing water to the skin cell, helping with skin hydration. Beta hydroxy acid is lipophillic, drawing oil from skin pores to help reduce blackheads and controlling sebum production. Due to the increased cellular turnover encouraged by the hydroxy acids, the appearance of age spots, freckles and hyper-pigmentation is reduced.
